Singer 115 Treadle Restoration | Tiffany Gold Decals Before & After

Project type

Singer 115 Full Restoration

Date

August 2025

Location

Richmond, TX

Role

I ( Rin ) restored this Singer 115 treadle that once belonged to my customer’s grandmother. It came to me aged and worn, with faded Tiffany gold decals and a dry cabinet. I refinished the body in deep black gloss, applied new decals, restored the wood, and rebuilt the treadle. Now it runs smoothly and looks just like it should — a family heirloom brought back to life.

This Vintage Singer 115 treadle sewing machine holds deep sentimental value for my customer — it once belonged to his grandmother and was recovered years later after her home was sold. When it arrived, the finish was dull, the Tiffany gold decals were faded, and the cabinet showed its age.

After a full restoration, the machine was completely transformed. The body was refinished in a deep black gloss, fitted with new Tiffany-style metallic gold decals, and every part was cleaned, polished, and adjusted for smooth function. The treadle irons were refinished in satin black with highlighted gold emblems, and the wood cabinet was restored to a warm, even tone that complements the decals beautifully.

This project brought a family heirloom back to life — both mechanically and visually — preserving a piece of family history that can now be proudly displayed and used again.
